Karmelita Beethoven Terem
At the final concert of the Karmelita concerts, the Prima Primissima
and Liszt Prize-winning pianist, Tamás Érdi, will take the stage,
and he has put together a particularly beautiful program of works by Liszt,
Bartók and Kodály.
As an overture, he plays Liszt's Sposalizio, which turns Raffaello's painting
of the same name into music with its dreamlike harmonies and ethereal sound.
Then, our journey leads to the fountains of the Villa d'Este, to the piece that is one
of Tamás Érdi's favorite with its magical, sparkling courses.
Consolation in D major is also particularly close to the pianist,
in which the sensitive, delicate, endlessly expressive playing
that is so characteristic of him prevails.
In the Hungarian rhapsodies, this sensitivity is combined with dramatic power,
bringing to life the colors of a full orchestra on the piano.
Finally, folk music, the "pure source", is also reflected in each of Bartók's
and Kodály's pieces, which - in harmony with folk melodies and dances -
are made truly unique by the individual voice and style of the composers.
