Varnus Terem

After the death of his younger brother Ádám Varnus in 2022, the iconic organist Varnus Xaver, who was awarded the Officer and Middle Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, bought the abandoned Old Evangelical Church of Mezőlak in Transdanubia, in order to turn it into a concert hall in memory of his brother and to create a spring art festival. Thus, in the spring of 2024, the jewel box village across the Danube, Mezőlak, will probably have the highest number of Kossuth awardees per square meter in the world. On ten Sunday afternoons, the greatest of Hungarian theater come to recite Shakespeare accompanied by the music of Varnus Xaver Bach.
